HEMP PROTEIN

Good Hemp have been producing hemp seed protein for over 10 years. We fractionate 1500 tonnes a year and are market leaders for hemp seed proteins.

We have a unique process producing the highest protein level product on the market, fully manufactured and dried on site in BRC accredited manufacturing facilities.

Benefits

  • Unique

High grade isolates ideal for multiple applications

  • Digestible

Hemp seed proteins have a PDCAAS more than or equal to other plant based proteins and contain 65% edestin, more than any other plant source.

  • Clean-Label

    Vegan, allergen free, Non-GMO

  • Balanced

Green hemp seed protein contains dietary fibre, whilst all hemp seed protein contain PUDA and 20 amino acids.

Since creating the first shelf stable hemp seed oil in 2004, our focus has been on the development of proteins from hemp seed that meet the demands of consumers, food technologists, nutritionists and the needs of modern food production.

Traditional hempseed protein powder contains a balance of protein, fat (the good ones) and fibre. It is well suited to vegan and vegetarian diets and ideal as a balanced supplement for consumers looking for natural protein powders. Whilst it is an excellent wholefood protein powder, we were looking for more. Over the last 8 years we have developed a range of hemp protein powders with wider applications in mind. From this extensive development in natural production techniques, we now offer two unique hemp protein isolates, specifically to meet the demands and expectations for the future of food, nutrition and the environment.

If you are looking to an eco-friendly future, then Good Hemp proteins are the answer.

46% Green Hemp Seed Protein

Green Hemp Protein 46%* benefits from containing protein, fibre and PUFA’s (Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids) which makes it a fantastic addition in many applications.

It is a perfect protein source for vegan, gluten free consumers with a focus on health, sports nutrition or satiety:

  • Natural complete protein powder delivering all 20 amino acids, including the 9 essential.
  • Only 9g fat per 100g! And rather uniquely, 6g of the fat is polyunsaturated Omega 3, 6 & 9 fats.
  • Contains 23% fibre as both insoluble and soluble fibre.

75% and 85% Hemp Seed Protein Isolates

With both protein and PUFA’s our Good Hemp Seed Protein Isolates (75% and 85%) make a fantastic addition in many applications. It is a perfect protein source for vegan, gluten free consumers with a focus on health, sports or satiety in ready to drink (RTD), plant based meat or dairy alternative, bakery and even protein enriched Ready To Drink (RTD) applications.

Good Hemp Seed Protein Isolates (75% + 85%) are a natural complete protein powder delivering all 20 amino acids including 9 essential amino acid.

It naturally contains 6g fat, and rather uniquely,4g of the fat is polyunsaturated Omega 3, 6 & 9 fats.
When compared to other vegan protein sources such as pea, our isolates contain more amino acids but can be used successfully in combination as well.

Sustainable Nutrition

Hemp protein contains an exceptionally high amount of arginine (6%) and glutamine (9%) (Lu et al., 2010). Arginine is a precursor of nitric oxide, the agent that enhances blood flow and contributes to the maintenance of normal blood pressure (Wu & Meininger, 2002). Hemp protein is also particularly valuable as a nutritional and bioactive ingredient for the formulation of foods that promote cardiovascular health.

The hemp seed plant is sustainable because it grows without the need of pesticides or irrigation. The long tap root improves both soil structure and soil nutrient level. The cultivation of hemp improves biodiversity and habitat providing pollen for pollinating insects later in the season. All parts of the plant can be used for other industries such as construction and clothing reducing wastage. It can be grown in temperate climates including Northern Europe, minimising carbon transportation costs.

Digestibility

Hemp protein is easier to digest than alternatives such as soy, because it does not contain oligosaccharides and trypsin inhibitors. These contribute to the formation of gas and prevent efficient protein absorption.

Evidence suggests that the high levels of edestin (65%) – the highest percentage among all plant based proteins and albumin within hemp make it more digestible in the human body. This means that the human body can use almost all of the amino acids in hemp protein powder for important bodily functions, such as repair and maintenance.
